Preparing you and your family for pregnancy and the new family member ahead of time will help them adjust to the new situation and allow love to grow.
MemorialCare helps you prepare for your baby’s arrival and care for your newborn. Expectant mothers and partners are invited to participate in a special maternity orientation, including a tour of the facility and additional program and service information.
The newborn is always the top priority, but do not forget that postpartum care is of the utmost importance when it comes to your health. Nine months of pregnancy change your body in more ways than you might have expected, and those changes do not stop after delivery. That is why postpartum care is important for every woman.
Healthy Postpartum Nutrition to prevent Postpartum Blues
Postpartum depression is an unfortunate and common experience for women that takes away from the joy that should be felt from having a new little one at home. Recent research has highlighted that specific nutrients can help prevent this occurrence completely. Our registered dietitians can help design an individualized plan utilizing diet, lifestyle, and targeted supplementation to ensure a happy and healthy postpartum period.
In Europe, the standard of care for every postpartum mom is to receive pelvic floor strengthening after she delivers a baby. The goal is to strengthen and rehabilitate the muscles of the pelvic floor thereby reducing the occurrence of postpartum incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. It will also work towards helping restore sexual function. Common postpartum problems include urinary and/or fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, sacroiliac joint instability, diastasis rectus abdominis, and core weakness.
Your OB package includes up to 13 prenatal visits, the delivery and the post-partum visit.
